The GTA Ambassador Program offers a unique opportunity for a selected community member to travel internationally and engage in meaningful mental health research. Participants will explore how therapists practice in different cultural contexts, with a focus on promoting cultural humility, improving community well-being, and supporting providers.
Funded by the GTA Foundation, this program will connect ambassadors with mental health clinics and professionals before their departure. They will follow a carefully formulated research protocol to ensure high-quality findings. After returning, participants will collaborate with the GTA team to publish their research in a peer-reviewed journal, contributing to the foundation's mission of supporting education and research in the mental health field.
This experience will offer participants—particularly graduate students—early research experience, allowing them to investigate mental health practices across cultures while gaining hands-on experience. The focus is on fostering global perspectives and promoting healthy relationships and well-being across communities.
